SAN ANTONIO -- Police said a man was shot in the head after a car accident on the southwest side Friday night.
Investigators said a small red truck clipped a light blue, two-door Mazda while the truck was pulling out of a gas station on Military Dr. at Bynum. The people inside the Mazda then started shooting, hitting the truck passenger in the head. The truck continued west on Military Dr., but the Mazda passed the truck. Once the truck drove over a hill, police said the people inside the Mazda opened fire again, hitting the truck in the front. The truck lost control and drove through a fence on Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland, only to drive back through the fence and come to a rest by Military Dr. The truck was shot at least ten times, officers said.
Police said the victim was taken to University Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Officers said a man and a woman were inside the Mazda but had no other information and were still investigating if anyone in the truck had a gun.
