SAN ANTONIO - The innocent bystander who was shot at a South Side theater a month ago has filed a $30 Million lawsuit against that theater.
According to the lawsuit, 49-year-old Mario Acevedo is claiming the theater had inadequate security, did not have security for the outside of premises and should have foreseen the danger because of numerous incidents which require police involvement on the premises. It refers to the 74 calls police responded to at the theater last year and 86 calls in 2011.
People living behind the theater say they’re concerned with crime filtering into their peaceful neighborhood.
Santikos Spokesperson Chris Petrich said, “They continue to work closely with the San Antonio Police Department and Bexar County Sheriff's Office."
He added the theater uses off duty officers as security at the theater 7 nights a week.
In fact, one of those officers, Bexar County Sheriff's Sergeant Lisa Castellano, took down the gunman.
