SAN ANTONIO -- A man ran at least two blocks for help after he was shot in the foot when he confronted some burglars, police said. It happened in the 100 block of Eveningway Dr near IH-35 and Thousand Oaks on the northeast side.

According to police, it was just before 1:00 a.m. Thursday when the man came across the burglars while he was investigating some noises he heard outside a business near his home. Police say one of the burglars fired several shots at the man, hitting him once in the foot.

The man ran to a nearby Valero where he called police. He was transported to the hospital with non life-threatening injuries. Police are still looking for the burglars.

Good example why we need stricter gun control. That way law abiding citizens won't have weapons and we all know that criminals will obey existing and new laws and won't carry weapons either. At least that's the mode of thinking of many Americans with a false sense of security and politicians wanting to make a name for themselves by passing sweeping changes to our current gun laws.
