SAN ANTONIO -- Sheriff's deputies are looking for a man who fired three shots at a Northeast Side home after trying to kick in the front door.
Around 8:00 a.m. Sunday, Corey Jackson said he woke up when his mom's dog started barking, warning him that someone was trying to get into their home on Sunlit Trail.
Corey said, "I yelled 'Hey! What are you doing?"
Corey told us the man then started trying to kick in the door. Corey grabbed his mom's gun and fired one shot, hoping to scare the man away. The man did leave but fired three shots at the home as he took off.
Sheriff's deputies are still looking for the man. A neighbor told Jackson he saw a man holding a gun while he ran down the street.
Neighbors say they do have a problem with crime during the day and evening hours. We did some checking and found out that in the past year, there has been a number of break-ins, thefts, and a home invasion.
The sheriff's office is aware of the problem and ask if you have any information about a crime, please contact Crime Stoppers at 224-STOP (7867), submit a tip
