SAN ANTONIO -- Police are searching for suspects following a reported home invasion.

Emergency crews were called to the Chapel Ridge Apartments in the 7200 block of Snowden Road, near Babcock and Wurzbach, just after 4 a.m. Wednesday. The victim said two people broke into his apartment while he was sleeping and put a bag over his head. He said the pair stole his wallet and another item he was unable to identify. The victim stated the thieves then cut his throat with a machete.

Police said the victim did have a very large cut on his neck, but that officers were still investigating since his statements were not supported by other evidence at the scene.

It's unknown if the victim knew his attackers. The victim was transported by EMS to a local hospital in serious condition.
