They have a lock out-tag out process? Maybe they should start using it, huh? Abook on the shelf, read tostaff once a year, does not constitute a LOTO progrm...or Safety Program for that matter. It's about the coprorate culture. Which starts at the top and filters down through the rank & file, to the fllow who lost the leg. I feel sorry for the victim and his family, but the machine didn't just go on random attack... so somewhere he must have checked his brain and the safety program at the door? Let's hope OSHA gets to the bottom of it and gets the employer in-line with training and living safety. They all share respnsibility, and blame. Too sad...

I worked at that plant a few years back. Three major accidents happened there prior. One guy had his flesh removed from his arm by one machine, another had his lower spine fractured by a stacking machine, and one crushed between machine segments. They do have a lock out tag out process but accidents keep happening.

I work at the plant. I was very impressed with Bexar County and San Antonio Fire Departments. Very professionalism and caring. Please say your prayers for this man and his family. It will be a long road for his recovery!
