Man gut shot after argument gets out of control

SAN ANTONIO -- A man is in stable condition after being shot in the stomach over the weekend.

The shooting happened on the West Side at Acme and Estrella just after 2am Saturday morning.

The victim, who is in his mid-twenties, told San Antonio police that three men attacked him.

Police say it looks as if the victim and the suspects knew each other, and became involved in some type of argument.

So the headline changed from the original "Man gut shot after when argument get out of control" to "Man gut shot after argument gets out of control" Better, but still not really English. Maybe they meant 'Man GOT shot....' or 'Man got shot in gut ..........'? I always thought writers should possess a solid command of their native language --- or at least have access to an editor/proof reader who does.
