SAN ANTONIO (AP) -- A 26-year-old San Antonio man has been sentenced to life in prison for the murder of his new bride.
A jury sentenced Charles Reese to the maximum sentence Thursday, two days after convicting him of shooting 18-year-old Shanika Sanford to death. The couple had been married less than a month when she was killed last March.
Sanford was shot in the face, neck, chest and hand after she and Reese got in a fight and she refused to get into their car.
