SAN ANTONIO -- A man identified as 25-year-old Peter Clevinger died early Sunday after police say he fell 10 stories from atop the Rivercenter Mall parking deck Downtown.

According to police, the incident occurred around midnight Sunday. Clevinger was found in a narrow passageway between the garage and another structure around 12:45 a.m. Sunday. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Clevinger was an Airman 1st Class stationed at JBSA-Lackland according to his father, Ralph Clevinger. Peter was an accomplished young man who leaves behind his mother, father, two sisters and an older brother who is a Captain in the Marine Corps, said his father.

Police say two men who were with Clevinger at the time of incident were detained for questioning. The circumstances surrounding his death remained under investigation Sunday afternoon, police said.

That’s okay Chief. I said it was sad, and I mean it. It always sucks when we lose one. Especially when it’s for something so completely avoidable & stupid. It truly sucks! But next time, if this crusty, crotchety former, Navy Nuke Submariner NCO needs the advice/comment of a pretty boy starched blue shirt, I'll bait my box trap with a cute AF trainee. Meh! Pretty boys... Humpff!

@Air4ce, instead of berating metals 70, you should be incensed that this guy died needlessly because of irresponsible behavior. He devastated his entire family with this needless death. All his family has is memories of him. I feel for the family he left to mourn.

to metals70... sometimes idiots like you and the internet don't mixwell either! Why would you make such an @$$inine comment when you know the family and friend of this Airmen would be reading it. This person served his country (which is more than you've ever done I'm sure)... how about you treat him with a little respect for protecting your 1st ammendment rights to make such an insensitive comment!

superspurs- would you say that about a friend or family member? Pete was a friend of mine. Why would you say something so meaningless, only to hurt us more.
