SAN ANTONIO - A man died after he was viciously beaten outside a North side convenience store.
Police were called to the Diamond Food Mart off Vance Jackson and Nassau around 10:00 pm Monday night. Police say the 41-year old victim was playing in a pool tournament nearby, and walked to the store to get a drink. Witnesses say he was confronted by two men inside the store who followed him outside. Police say a third man also approached him, and the three men began beating the victim.
The victim was taken to University hospital where he died in surgery late Monday night.
Police are looking at surveillance video taken from outside the store.
Investigators say they hope to make arrests soon in connection with the beating death.
