SAN ANTONIO -- A man died after he was shot in the head in a West Side neighborhood Sunday.
The shooting happened around 8:00 p.m. Sunday in the 2500 block of Westward Drive, near Military Drive and Highway 90. Police said 29-year-old Daniel Gonzales and two others were standing on the sidewalk behind a vehicle parked in the street when a blue Suburban pulled up and stopped in the street in front of the them. The two witnesses told investigators the man driving the Suburban exchanged a few words and then pulled a gun and fired at least two shots at them.
Gonzales was shot in the head and was taken by ambulance to University Hospital. Police confirmed Monday morning Gonzales later died from his injuries.
The suspect sped off in the SUV after the shooting. He is described as a Hispanic man with a light build who is between 25 and 30 years of age. He is bald and had a goatee at the time of the shooting.
