SAN ANTONIO -- A man died after his car was hit by a wrong way driver on Highway 151 early Friday.

Police say a Toyota Sienna minivan crashed head-on into a Hyundai Elantra on Highway 151 around 3:30 a.m. Friday. A report states police received calls about a silver or gray minivan traveling the wrong way on Highway 90. Officers responding to the call were told the minivan had exited onto Highway 151 and was traveling westbound in the eastbound lanes. A short time later, they received multiple calls about a major accident on Highway 151 near Callaghan Road.

Police say when emergency crews arrived, both drivers were trapped inside their vehicles, appeared to be badly injured, and were unresponsive.

The woman driving the minivan, 29-year-old Shauna Ripley, was taken by AirLife to University Hospital in serious condition.

Jorge Badillo Jr, 31, driving the Hyundai was also transported to University Hospital and was pronounced dead about an hour later.

Excuse me, but alcohol sales should NOT be banned after 10 PM. My family & I drove late into South Padre Island and were prevented from purchasing some beer to celebrate. PISSED US OFF!!!! Unacceptable. Drunks will find booze no matter what. Don't let their irresponsibility get in the way of my responsible fun.

If found guilty, the death penalty should apply. Maybe then Shauna can do something for her fellow man, die and be an example of how drunk driving murderers meet justice. Tired of these stories.

Shauna will have to live with this event for the rest of her life. The facebook you and the news is seeing and taking bit by bit apart IS her modeling facebook page. Even if alcohol played a factor in this who can say YOU havent driven drunk or had a drink. VERY VERY few people will admit it I am sure. Anyways, I will keep both families in my thoughts and hope Shauna continues to improve in her health. Those that know Shauna know what type of person she is, those that do not know her should shut there mouth and pray both families seek support and stop throwing stones cause I am sure you are not perfect either.

I personally wouldn't doubt if just being in a Hyundai increases the chances of not surviving a catastrophic crash either, but the driver was in no way at fault. Drunk driving is evil.
