BANDERA COUNTY, Texas – A county deputy here is in intensive care and his wife was killed by an accused drunken driver.

Investigators say Patrol Sgt. Gerald Johnson and his wife Erin were on a motorcycle Saturday morning when that driver crashed into them.

Deputies have arrested David Flentge who they say was drunk when he crashed into the couple’s motorcycle.

The deputy's wife, who was a passenger on the bike, died at the scene. Sgt. Johnson is at University Hospital.

The Texas Department of Public Safety is handling the investigation.
