SAN ANTONIO -- The local father accused of stabbing his wife right in front of their child's school may soon be released on bond.
Officials at the Bexar County Jail said Thursday Roberto Barron's had been set at $450,000. That bond has increased significantly, first from $150,000, then to $300,000, now to $450,000. There's no word on when Barron will leave the jail.
Barron is accused of stabbing his wife, Teresa Barron, moments after she dropped off their daughter at Bonham Academy in Southtown. The attack happened after an an argument apparently escalated. Police say a bystander armed with a gun stopped the attack and held Roberto Barron at gunpoint until police arrived.
Although a motive for the crime is not clear, Teresa Barron filed for divorce last week.
Roberto Barron is charged with aggravated assault.
Teresa Barron is still recovering in a hospital.
