SAN ANTONIO -- A man is in police custody following a police standoff on the South Side Thursday.
Police say 23-year-old Taylor Rogers is accused of holding his girlfriend hostage inside a home in the 1800 block of West Mayfield. Negotiators credit a friend of Rogers for helping diffuse the situation and talk him into coming out of the house.
Things got worse when Rogers came out, however, because he refused to listen to officers' orders. SWAT members ended up shooting him with a Sage gun with plastic bullets to get him under control.
Rogers was arrested for assault and unlawful restraint.
