CONVERSE, Texas -- A Converse man is in jail, accused of beating a woman who was holding her son.
The arrest warrant affidavit states John Fitzgerald Pickens got into a fight with his girlfriend. The affidavit says Pickens punched the woman and dragged her on the ground.
Detectives say the boy had scratches on his leg and elbow as a result of the abuse to the boy's mother.
Pickens has been charged with injury to a child.
