The best way to run off coons is to play classical music, like Beethoven or Bach or Philip Glass. Jazz doesn't work, it only encourages them to infiltrate the perimeter. My mother continues to feed them bread and cat food, and I will never understand the point of it. Feeding coons only encourages them to come back for more. Baby coons are cute, but they turn wild and vicious once they hit puberty in the spring.

I was actually at her salon the first time she had the problem. I know that one of her clients there is a cancer survivor. The odor of urine and waste that day were horrible. Mrs. Anderson does a wonderful work for the community, women and children. It would be a shame if she were unable to share her gift. I think the landlord should be sued and not allowed to rent property. I for one am incensed. I depend on her wigs for my problem of alopecia. I've tried other place, they don't have the care and privacy that she provides. Please San Antonio! Lets get behind this young woman and help her !!!!!!!!!!

Humane removal is a polite way of saying they are trapped, taken away and killed. This leaves and empty space for two more to come compete for the territory. Finding where they get in and using exclusion methods to prevent more from coming in and leaving them in their own territory is the only humane method. Trappers like you to think they're doing you a favor but they leave the entrances so they have repeat business from you next year. They know more will move in. kenoscope get some moth balls, poke holes in empty soda bottles, put the moth balls in and put them where the skunk are a problem. They will leave. Relocating any wild animal does not solve the problem. It invites others to take over the empty area. It is also hard on the animals to find new food sources and homes. Exclusion methods are the only choice. Find where they are getting in and repair the problem. Use one way doors so they can get out and not back in. Use hardware cloth and screw it down over any entrance possibilities. If you nail it, raccoons will remove the nails. Raccoon Rescue http://doryandtheorphans.com

I believe this problem lies soley with the landlord or property owner...the reporter mentioned that the previous tenant had the same issue and she was never notified of it. This is an unscrupulous, money hungry person who misrepresented the premises. She invested a lot of funds to assist women's issues during their illness...she should not be left holding the bag. She is right to leave...I pray that she finds another location very soon. God bless you Ms. Anderson for the work that you do. I wish I knew of a pro-bono attorney that would stick it to your landlord. Why hasn't he or she contacted the TV station...what are they hiding??? Would it be lacking to disclose a preexisting condition of property, misrepresentation of the rental premises or just basic real estate fraud. No this poor lady is just trying to live the American Dream someone should really help her!!!

Call Animal Control, "City will rent you a trap, you catch them then call us back." Caught them "We don't handle skunks/possoms. Oh, and it is illegal to kill them or release them on public property." Called a private company $200 per animal trapped." Went to Harbor Freight & picked up a $30 trap, found a private landowner that would let me release them. Nine possums, thirteen skunks later and we still have them coming in the yard tearing up the garden. Being as we live inside Loop 410 this is unacceptable, especially as three has never been a wild animal in our yard from 1963 until SAWS decided to make allys on private property. However I have become adept at removing skunks without getting sprayed, though Pine-Sol is great for getting the stench out. Moral of this story? The City WILL NOT HELP YOU and it can cost thousands to rid yourself of the problem while still not dealing with the source.

I had a bad raccoon problem in my home. Call Critter control 210.499.4225. They will figure out how they enter, humainly trap the animals and relocate them and close the entryways. Best money I have ever spent.

This is a city problem - they need to help her - animal control needs to step in. This is beyond her scope as a renter . Where is the owner of the building and why isnt the city there to work with him , both of them there to help her? Im sure the city wants to get paid taxes. so it seems to me the owner and the city should be the ones stepping up to make sure her property is sanitary. I can guarantee if this was her doing something they would be coming after her and fining her 10000 to clean up her mess .. since she didnt do this,, no one wants to do a thing,,,, now if those dang raccoons just had an address to send them a fine, that might be different ! The amount of negligence and taking ownership and stepping up help one another in this city is pretty much null and void . No one wants to help , no one takes responsibility and everyone wants points fingers and says NOT MY PROBLEM - in the meantime this lady is left out in the cold , and so are many other women who need her services , suffering from cancer. This is outrageous - surely the city can brainstorm and think of a way to help her - and her landlord should also be doing everything he can to make sure she and her clients are safe! Get real - this is the landlord and the city that need to work this out! BUt PLEASE DO NOT POISEN the animals!

If she poisons the animals and they die in her salon, she and the landlord will have a much worse problem! Ever had a dead squirrel in your attic? During a Texas summer? Multiply that by a factor of 10... Poison is a very bad idea for lots of reasons. Just saying.
