SAN ANTONIO- Local parents, students and teachers are fighting for more money for schools. A group headed to Austin on Saturday for a big rally.

State Representative Mike Villarreal who went with the group said,” You unnecessarily cut our kids education by $5.4 billion. It turns out that you didn't have to that. You had extra money left over from the last budget cycle. Let's use it”.

A bipartisan group of state lawmakers is discussing the possibility of restoring as much as nearly 1-billion dollars to schools. You can find out more on the campaign to save Texas schools by visiting www.Savetxschools.org.

More money is not the answer. Rewind back to pre-1960s when kids actually had parents that gave a crap about them and did what it took to ensure their child succeeded instead of expecting public servants to do it for them. Also, this was before the welfare state came into being where lazy parasites expect the public school to raise their kids, feed them, discipline them, etc while they keep producing more to live on the taxpayer's dime while contributing little or nothing themselves. The family gets a failing grade...not the school system.

How about making these people actually prove how throwing more money into this system will make things better for the children, rather than the administrators? How will more money improve the dropout rate? Increase reading or math comprehension? Or even just ensure the students actually show up for classes?

The public school system is a failure. Until the day comes I can select the school for my children, I don't know why I should be forced to give them one more dime.
