SAN ANTONIO -- A local college plans to use a video game to get students to work out.

Palo Alto College will soon offer an online course on physical conditioning using Nintendo's Wii Fit.

The game has been so popular, school officials say they saw an opportunity to use it to help people become physically active. One of the pluses is students don't have to leave their living rooms.

"We're not requiring the students to come here to campus," explained Dr. Robert Garza, Dean of Student Affairs. "They're actually able to utilize the Wii Fit in the comfort of their own home."

The course will be offered for college credit beginning in Spring of 2010.
