SAN ANTONIO -- The Majestic Theatre and apartments above the theatre were evacuated Monday morning after a fire started in the basement of the building.
Fire crews were called to the 200 block of West Houston Street around 10:30 a.m. Monday after fire alarms in the building went off. Firefighters said a washing machine in the basement caught fire and smoke from the fire went up the elevator shaft.
Crews were able to put out the fire quickly, and no one were reported.
