SAN ANTONIO--Andrisela Ng was found guilty of murder Monday evening in the death of her 2-year-old daughter Gianna.
This was Ng's second trial, the first ended in a mistrial last year. Ng burst into tears as the guilty verdict was read. She was immediately taken into custody.
Ng took the stand in her own defense making it clear to a jury she didn't know about the extent of her daughter's injuries. She claimed her daughter fell from a bed. Prosecutors maintained little Gianna suffered from head trauma consistent with a beating.
Ng faces up to life in prison.
