Is techspeak taking over the English language?

Texting abbreviations are practically a second language, and our children are the masters. But when the masters meet English teachers, there's an educational issue.

People are going to start printing out their Facebook profiles and send those in as resumes. Actually that would weed out a lot of losers if employers went ahead and requested a print out. Social media is better off as a business tool, not posting how much time you waste and consequently proving you have no money because you spend too much time doing nothing. But too many old men are doing Playstation which is the same timewaster.

@Superspurs, I LOVE it when we're on the same page!!!!!! Actually, from my perspective, it truly happens quite often with regard to the whole, yet we may differ on specifics. Anyway, I'm 100% on board with you on this one!!!!!

Agreed...good luck getting a job with "OMG I am totally LMFAO." Add that to the incessant use of "like": it's like you know totally obvious that like I'm not like that into him like you know?

This is what happens when parents give their tots cell phones to keep themselves occupied, instead of a book. Just another example of the piss-poor parenting.

Try using techspeak when you are filling out your job application and then we'll see who gets farther in life...Teachers, if your student uses techspeak in their 10 page reports, fail the entire project. After repeating the 9th grade a couple of times they will probably get the point. Parents, if your teen uses 'OMG, Mom.' in a sentence, take thier phones and slam them on the ground and stomp the crap out of it. Then put a bullet through the remaining sim card.
