Unless the federal government is dissolved almost no state can escape the Union without bloodshed. Although we don't need the permission of the federal government we do need their recognition. Otherwise we'll just be seen as a defiant state and be forced, at gunpoint if necessary, to pay federal taxes, observe federal regulations, and remain cordial with neighboring states. 20 million signatures (a majority of Texans) won't make secession any easier.

God has made His demand for a Christain nation on this continent quite clear. To the north, there are godless Canadians who spend their time making beer and whiskey with which to corrupt American youth. To the south, there are Mexicans in thrall to the Roman Pope who send marijuana and cocaine for the same purpose.
