SAN ANTONIO -- An inmate at the Bexar County Jail died Thursday night.

Alvin Boyd County, 66, was pronounced dead around 11: 45 p.m. Thursday. According to Bexar County officials, County's cellmate alerted a Bexar County Sheriff's Deputy working in the Detention Center that County was in medical distress around 10:30 p.m. When the deputy saw County was having trouble breathing, the deputy contacted the medical crew on staff at the jail and EMS was called.

County was taken by EMS to the Baptist Hospital Downtown, arriving at 11:16 p.m. He was pronounced dead about 30 minutes later.

County had been in the jail on a felony theft charged since February 27th.

Officials say preliminary reports indicate there is no evidence of violence, weapons, drug use, or self-harm involved. An autopsy will be performed to provide a final report on a cause of death.

so very sad. Unfortunately, the noise you hear outside is all the attorneys vying to be the one to file the wrongful death suit....
