SAN ANTONIO -- Foul play is not suspected in the death of a Bexar County Jail inmate who died Saturday after being found unconscious, said Paul Berry, a sheriff's department spokesman.
The inmate identified as Antonio Obregon, 32, was found on the sixth-floor of the Bexar County Detention Center in the 200 block of Comal Street around 6:30 p.m. Saturday.
Obregon was taken to a local hospital, where he later died, Berry said.
Berry said the victim was found by himself and was bleeding, but no weapon or a suspicious substance was found nearby.
Inmates and other officers saw Obregon by himself before he was found unconscious, Berry said. The Medical Examiner’s Office had not determined a cause of death as of Sunday.
