Gonzales County -- A major accident shut down US Highway 90A at FM 2091 around 10:30 this morning, after an 18-wheeler tanker lost control on slick roads, and crashed, causing a fireball.  Our friends at the Gonzales Inquirer sent us the attached pictures where you can see thick, black smoke for miles.

Preliminary information from DPS confirmed both the tractor and trailer were fully engulfed in flames upon impact, and that the driver was burned beyond recognition. Authorities were still trying to determine a positive identification of the driver late Wednesday.

The Gonzales Inquirer and News 4 San Antonio will continue to monitor this developing story.
