LIVE OAK, Texas -- Police arrested a man they say choked his wife and beat her with a plastic baseball bat.
Investigators say Scott Allen Crocker's wife showed up at the Live Oak Police Department around just before 6:00 p.m. Sunday to report the attack. She said the attack happened at their home and in a motor vehicle. She told investigators Crocker had been abusive for years and had beaten her with a plastic baseball bat earlier in the week. She said on Sunday, he punched her, slammed a door on her wrist, and choked her with both his hands before forcing her into a vehicle.
Crocker's wife said once they were inside the vehicle, he began threatening to crash the vehicle and told her he would leave her body in a ditch. She told police as they were driving near her brother's home, witnesses saw her being beaten and came to her aid. Crocker's wife also said he told her he has nothing to live for and that he would take her with him.
Scott Allen Crocker is charged with "Assault-Family-Strangulation."
