There was a study from Texas A&M raising the possibility of eliminating mountain cedar trees. That would be great in my opinion, they are a pest, and then replant something not so allergenic but still native in its place would be nice.

Back at you Nu Branfls Jon. I use Dr. David Rider in Seguin. He is my "family doctor" who took over the practice when Dr. James Lee retired. Dr. Lee found the trick to easing the severity of cedar fever several years ago and Dr. Rider has followed suit. The regiment consists of a steroid shot, antibiotics, and codine laced cough syrup. Make sure you are current on your flu and pneumonia shots. Since there is no cure I have had less drastic reations. Before Dr. Lee found the right combination for me I wound up in the hospital with bronical infections and pneumonia several times. Hope it works for you!

Hey Peggy Haug, Thanks for you comments. but, who is your doctor and what does he do. I'm a long time cedar fever victim. I've tried shots with no success. I'm no on sub-lingual allergy drops (under the tongue drops). It's not perfect, but a little better. Any info would be greatly appreciated. I'm sure there are other Cedar Sufferers who could also use your info. Thanks, John in New Braunfels.

For those of us who suffer from true cedar fever it takes only a few spores to trigger a reaction. I tried allergy shots for seven years but could never build an immunity. Thank goodness I have a doctor who has discovered the "magic formula" of medicinal therapy to ease the severity. A light pollen year will be a blessing. The drought and wild fires that destroyed so many trees was devestating. The trees will come back and next year may be a record year. When you can't control the atmosphere, you adjust and deal with it.
