House fire sparked by water heater

SAN ANTONIO -- A home near St. Mary's University caught fire Monday afternoon.

Crews were called to a home in the 300 block of West Ligustrum around 2:10 p.m. Monday. News 4 WOAI was told the fire started while the homeowner was trying to turn on the water heater. The flames then spread through part of the attic.

The fire caused about $35,000 in damages.

I am a close friend of the homeowners. They had nothing to do with the fire and were no where near the water heater when it caught fire. It was an electrical water heater. Please get your facts straight WOAI!!!!!
