SAN ANTONIO - A homeowner surprised a would-be thief on the North Side. He greeted the man in his house with a gun.

The incident happened around 2:50 p.m. on Friday at a house on Lively near Vance Jackson. Police said a man was walking up and down the street looking for unlocked doors when he walked into one house to find the homeowner pointing a gun at him.

The man left and was arrested a short while later. Police suspect the man was on drugs.

There's no word on what charges he is facing.

If Obama and the liberal left have their way the home owner would be dead or in jail.

I grew up in the Dellview area, and my elderly parents still live in the area. It's a shame we can no longer leave our doors unlocked, but such is life, I suppose. My advice to my elderly parents if faced with this situation is to shoot first, then call the police. I've shared this article with my brothers and sisters, and we all agree that given the situation we will shoot first and call the police afterwards should we be present at the folks' home if a stranger were to enter the house. It isn't about protecting "things" . . . it is about protecting our elderly parents from the dangers of a robber who thinks the elderly are an easy target. No quarter will be given to thieves and robbers.

Many of you seem angry and given to violence. I must rebuke you. When Jesus was Himself crucified by the Romans up on Golgotha, it was in the company of two robbers, Gestas and Dismas. Jesus saved them both right there on the cross, glory be to God. Our job as Christians is to rebuke the sinner, as I have rebuked you wretches, but to try to lead that sinner to the light of the Lord's word, as I try to do for the unsaved on this site almost every day. It is difficult to be a Christian sometimes, but we must remember that the work of a Christian is to forgive this sinner and try to bring him to Jesus. It is the Lord God who will send him to Hell if we are not successful. That is the work of the Lord.

Silvy, the things I have in my home aren't stolen, I bought them with my hard earned money. Yeah, if someone was to break into my home, threaten my family, and try to steal my stuff they would have a meet and greet with my doberman and german shephard, if that doesn't scare them off, a gun to the head will do.

yeah silvy, you think this way now...wait til it happens to you..what if your children were in the house while you're in the shower and this same "give another chance thief" rapes or assaults the kids!! then what??? you need to snap our of your coma and get with reality!! A thug is a thug and always will be....i have a brother in law that was given chance upon chance..no change...just to let you know, they never change...thats why its "TWO TO THE HEAD, BAMBAM!!"

You guys are so quick to be judge and jury and want to end this man's life. What if this were your son? Wouldn't you want him to at least be given the chance to turn over a new leaf? Belongings are replaceable; human life is not. No, the man shouldn't have been trying to rob homes - but should he really die for that? I support the homeowner greeting him with a gun - and ultimately deciding not to use it.
