SAN ANTONIO -- A shoplifting suspect got more than he bargained for when he ran inside a Southwest Side home while fleeing from police.

News 4 WOAI was told two people stole some electric razors from a CVS Pharmacy in the 5900 block of Old Pearsall Road around 8:20 a.m. Monday. Police say the pair fled on foot, running into a nearby neighborhood near Sweet Valley and Kim Valley. The suspects then separated, and one of them ended up running into the backyard of one of the homes and then inside the house itself. The homeowner grabbed a handgun and chased the suspect back outside, firing a warning shot into the ground.

Both suspects were then caught by police.

The homeowner is not expected to face any charges.
