SAN ANTONIO - Take it somewhere else. That’s the message from a homeowner concerned about people loitering and drinking in front of a convenience store on Midcrown Drive.

"Even during the day, you notice people hanging out and drinking beer and there's lots of public intoxication," said the woman who did not want to be identified.

In the past year, the homeowner said the problem has gotten worse. She said people can’t even sit at a bus stop because of people loitering in the same spot and consume alcohol.

The bus stop is near a day care center and Ed White Middle School.

"I want the neighborhood to be safe, safe for the kids," she said.

Another person, stopping by the store, said she is concerned and afraid to call police about too much drug activity and prostitution.

Inside the busy store, a manager insists he has not ignored safety concerns and called police many times about loitering and drinking.

The San Antonio Police Department is investigating and we will keep you updated.

Phrilly, I made a simple statement in response to two prior comments, yet you put the blame on me for beginning the conversation. I never start these conversations, but I do respond to others, yet you seem Hell bent on accusing me. Fine. I really don't give a flip what you, or TexasNative, think. I'm not a troll, but my comments are obviously not appreciated......most often by those of opposing opinions and views. I have the same rights as you to speak my mind.

STOP GIVING THE TROLLS ATTENTION! They will go away. With that said, I know the area they're talking about, very close to Roosevelt HS. It's been a problem area for decades hasn't it? This is just another reason to do away with taxpayer funded "handouts" for people that are too lazy to support themselves.

considernig this town shuts down for the public intoxication drunk fest, AKA Fiesta, it's no WONDER these people think it's ok to just drink anywhere. i mean, the city itself promotes this behavior! maybe if people in SA would think about things other than their next drunk, things would be different

okay, everyone, does anyone actually live in this area? These bus stops are right by Section 8 housing. This apartment building has had at least two fires this year. The "convenience" store doesn't want to alianate the Section 8 people because that is his primary income. This area is currently undergoing a revitalization of Walzem, Midcrown and Eisenhauer including Windcrest who spread all the way down the access road from Walzem and down Eisenhauer to Midcrown. I can walk out my back gate and be in Windcrest. Most of these posts are waaayyyyy out of the original story. Any time Carmen, Butterfly and Dixie get on these sites they start an uproar away from the main theme. Those people that live in that direct area have cops there all the time. There is one bus stop in front of this store and the other side is right by a liquor store. That's like throwing gasoline on a fire (so to speak). Sign up for Crime Spot and you can see the endless reports from that area. The residents of Camelot (NOT Camelot II) take pride in keeping their homes, lots, and street clean. Any where there is Section 8 housing you will find the same problems.

camidawg...you'd be the leader of the United Nations Organization if you could solve the mistery of the police all over the sates and the world busting users and johns in "known drug hoses" and "known prostitution areas", for example, instead of eradicating the conflict from the root. It is like going to the doctor and showing him a tumor in your neck, and he'd say..."oh yes...that's a tumor, I know...NEXT!"

Something is extremely wrong if SAPD didn't have this spot on their radar. See, this is what I am talking about. It's not like this popped up overnight. The fact that someone has to TELL the police where to go do their jobs at really bothers me much more than the horsemess yall are talking about below. Dear McManus: Seriously, man. If I had your job for one day I would be elected Governor.

DixieChick, or Chicksie...? You are a good woman. Very few of the posters here (and some reporters) are as articulate and resourceful as you are. And your grammar is very good, also. Me, I'm just a benevolent troll and you shouldn't pay too much attention to me. Thanks!

FreeHope, I understand what you're saying and how you feel. All I'm asking for is the same consideration.....freedom of personal belief and faith/religion. The one thing that I will say to you is that all those peoples of the Earth, past, present, and future, as a culture, society, race, tribe, whatever, have their own version of a religion, be it Mother Earth, Great White Father, God, Mohammed, or whomever. And, all are given a chance on Judgment Day, even the worst of us all, because Jesus died on the cross to absolve us of our sins. I do not sit here trying to impose upon you my belief and Faith, nor will I as others might, and do. As I said, living by example is the greatest teacher, be it religion, acceptable behavior, morals, and values, and just about any aspect of our lives and existence, and most especially including LYING. And, while I do understand your argument with regard to space/galaxy travel, I also believe in the possibility of worlds and societies out there that are so far advanced ahead of us that travel between and within galaxies could be possible. We base our "intelligence" on our own knowledge and values, and truth is...we may only be "right" within our own limitations. And, I don't necessarily agree with carbon dating and aging of our Earth and everything else, which is, once again, based on our own, questionable scientific evaluations, beliefs, and deductions. I question its reliability, and that doesn't make me crazy or anything else. It's a questioning, logical mind that has read about evidence to the contrary, including a period of a much higher concentration of Oxygen surrounding the Earth, which changes everything greatly. Anyway, a discussion of religion and faith can go on forever, and never get anywhere. As I said, I'm a Christian that tries to live my life according to normal, conservative moral standards that agree with God's word. I respect your opposing belief and will not try to change it.
