SAN ANTONIO -- It's time to break out the tacky holiday sweaters.

Company holiday parties are making a comeback according to the annual "Challenger, Gray and Christmas Inc Holiday Party Survey." It reveals 83-percent of companies will host an event this season and one out of 10 businesses holding a party this year didn't have one last year because of the economy.

But it seems like workers would rather have cold hard cash than a party.

Holiday office parties can be fun, but most employees would rather have some cash. That's according to an annual survey on the career site Glassdoor.com.

They polled more than two-thousand Americans with full-time jobs and 73-percent would rather ditch the holiday party and get a bonus instead. Five-percent want to socialize with colleagues.
