Historic missions could become oil and gas drilling sites

SAN ANTONIO -- Some San Antonio missions could become future sites for oil and gas drilling.

A new list from the National Park Service focuses on sites that have a relatively high likelihood of being home to future energy developments.

The San Antonio Missions National Historical Park made the list because it is near shale gas fields. Missions officials say they aren't worried about the designation.

um, not a good idea. historic sites need to be preserved. drill in non-historic sites or places where there are no endangered animals
