SAN ANTONIO - A rollover crash involving an 18-wheeler forced police to close the ramp from Highway 90 to Interstate 37 South Friday.

The driver told officers he was traveling west on Highway 90 and exited at the Interstate 37 interchange around 2:10 a.m. Friday. News 4 WOAI was told the driver said he heard a pop as he was merging onto Interstate 37 and then lost control of the truck. Police say the truck crossed over two lanes of traffic and the right shoulder of the roadway and then hit the guardrail on the right side of the road. The truck crushed about 50 feet of the guardrail before it rolled over into the grassy area off the roadway.

The driver was not hurt, but investigators said it would take time to clear the crash site.

As of 9:45 a.m. Friday, the ramp remained closed. CLICK HERE to go to the TransGuide website for the latest traffic updates on this accident.
