Hacker attacks NISD's website in protest of tracking system

What he did is called a denial of services attack or DOS. Somehow the hacker overloads the school district's website. The point is to make the site unavailable for the everyday user, not to steal private information.

LOL @ NISD - "The program only works in the school area." Really? I can tell you this, that is not true. In addition, all it is going to take to get someone fired over this and for a major lawsuit (or lawsuits) to occur is for a technically smart student to walk around campus with an RFID reader to walk in close proximity to steal the information embedded on the chips. Even if the social security numbers are not on the chips, it will not take much to associate those student ID numbers with an NISD database to obtain personal information. That information can then be sold to the highest bidder and guess what... yup, that students credit record is ruined and it will take time and effort to recover. It isn't difficult to accomplish and it WILL happen, so for the proponents of this program, be prepared to find a new job once this happens...
