LIVE OAK, Texas-- Large crowds are expected at the Texas Gun Show in Live Oak this Saturday.
Gun vendors are anxiously awaiting President Barack Obama's announcement on curbing gun violence.
President Obama appointed Vice President Joe Biden to head up a task force to come up with recommendations about gun control.
Those recommendations are expected to included a renewed assault-weapons ban, a new universal background check for gun buyers, and closing of the so-called gun show loop hole.
Local gun shop owner and gun show vendor Stephen Sparks says since the middle of last month his gun sales have been through the roof.
"We're trying to build keep inventory up but its very hard right now, " said Sparks.
Sparks is also a federal fire arms licensed dealer, but not every vendor at a gun show is. Sparks says he does background checks, but other private sellers can rent a table and sell weapons. "And that's the gun show loop hole that they talk about, " added Sparks.
Sparks went on to say if the gun show loop hole is closed there will be fewer and fewer vendors, and gun shows could be in jeopardy.
"There's only a few vendors in the show that can do sales, then we're going to have a problem, " said Sparks.
