Group trying to stop school budget cuts

SAN ANTONIO - Public schools have lost $5.4 billion dollars in budget cuts, creating larger classes and layoffs. This week a group is rallying for parents to stand up for change.

The group "Save Texas Schools" is coming to San Antonio this week to show parents and concerned citizens how to push for change. The conference will take place Friday and Saturday.

ISD CEO's need to cut their salaries. Teachers need to be allowed to teach. Back to the basics with a look at utilizing technology. Showing a child how to use a calculator to do math, is not teaching them how to figure out the problem. I would bet that very few children today can do multiplication in their head. Throwing more money at education is not the answer - teaching kids how to think, reason, and reach conclusions is what's needed.

ALL teachers and administration need to take salary cuts, that will save the schools.
