SAN ANTONIO- The Grinch is alive and well and as one woman puts it he is making his rounds in a Northside neighborhood stealing Christmas decorations.

Those big inflatable holiday decorations that people place in their yard seem to be a big hit with children and an even bigger hit with thieves.

“Well I had the penguin, and I had my Santa Claus and I had my snowman here,” explained Jeannie Rumpza.

The big inflatable decorations were a hit with Jeannie and her children, but their joy didn't last long.

“I guess about 1:20, 1:30 in the morning I heard like a big bang and I came to the front living room window and all my stuff was gone. They only left my extension cords,” said Jeannie.

She couldn't believe the items were stolen just yards from her front door. But then after talking to some neighbors she realized the Grinch had been striking all over the neighborhood and all within a matter of days.

“There are a few other homes like the one with the car down there also had a couple of things stolen, the house on the corner also had a couple of things stolen I believe, down the street there was a neighbor that her reindeer was stolen”.

While she doesn't plan to replace all the decorations Jeannie did buy a large inflatable puppy for her two young boys to enjoy.

Jeannie has a message for the thief. She feels he just may need a little more Christmas cheer than she and her family.

“I hope you enjoy them as much as we did, God bless you guys and Merry Christmas”.

Only two things: 1- Where did this happen? A good reporter always try to get the WHERE? part of the story. Northside is too vague. 2- For the lack of neiborhoods security and citizens safety we need to thank City Manager Sheril Scully, who was brought at a high expense to save money for the city council, but in the process is hurting a lot of SanAntonians. Kudos for saving so much money, city council!

From the looks of her, she can stand in for the snowman.

This looks like the same woman had this happen to her last year. Too many thieves in our city.

If we start catching them and string 'em up along 1604, I-10 and 410, and I-35 it would stop. Then we could spend our hard earned money on decorations and display them without being concerned that they'll be messed with. This is what the thieves and other criminals deserve. There is no "redistribution" of wealth. You work, you get paid, you buy your own decorations.

You can tell who did it. It's the guy in the house with 27 blow-up things in his front yard. He has big Christmas spirit, just doesn't want to spend his beer and drug money from his welfare check on stuff he can steal instead. I guess an inflatable Santa won't fly on his Lone Star card.
