SAN ANTONIO -- A grass fire caused a traffic tie up on Highway 90 on the West Side Monday afternoon.
The fire started around 12:41 p.m. on Highway 90 near Zarzamora. Strong winds sent smoke from the fire billowing across Highway 90, slowing traffic to a crawl at one point.
News 4 San Antonio was told the fire started when winds caused the electrical wires across the highway to touch, sending sparks into the grass. It took firefighters more than hour to put out the flames.
No injuries were reported.
