SAN ANTONIO -- San Antonio Police are investigating an attack involving a 16-year-old girl. Investigators say the girl was on her way to Churchill High School last Tuesday morning when a man approached her from behind and knocked her to the ground.
The victim's grandmother, who didn't want to be identified, says her granddaughter was touched inappropriately and she's still scared.
"She's very traumatized," she added.
The grandmother says her granddaughter managed to get away and run for help.
"We're such in a public area yet no one says anything, and that's the saddest part."
The grandmother said the attack happened more than a week ago and the school still hasn't notified anyone.
"We have to make sure our children are protected."
The grandmother says what makes matters worse, is learning about an incident that happened Monday at Eisenhower Middle School, which is just up the road from Churchill High School.
A man pretending to be a police officer approached a middle school girl walking home from Eisenhower. The girl ran away and told her parents about the incident.
"Someone is out there doing this to our children, it needs to stop," said the grandmother.
Eisenhower Middle School did send a letter out to parents regarding the fake police officer incident, but no letter was ever sent out to Churchill parents.
When we asked the North East Independent School District why, News 4 was told the decision on whether or not to send out a letter is left up to the principal of the school.
The grandmother hopes by sharing her story other parents will be more cautious and students will walk in groups.
Police are investigating both incidents, investigators say it's too early to say if the same suspect is involved.
