SAN ANTONIO -  A generic brand of Lipitor is being recalled because the pills may contain glass particles.

Ranbaxy Pharmaceuticals is voluntarily recalling the cholesterol-lowering medication, Atorvastatin.

The recall includes 10, 20 and 40 milligram doses of the drug.

Ranbaxy was the first company to launch the generic Lipitor in the United States with enormous success.
