SAN ANTONIO -- A garbage truck driver was killed in a rollover crash on the West Side early Monday.

The Waste Management truck was traveling in the northbound lanes of Loop 410 near West Military Drive around 5:45 a.m. Monday when the driver lost control. The truck slid across the highway and went down the embankment of the right shoulder.  The truck then rolled over, and the driver was partially ejected.

The driver was pronounced dead at the scene by EMS. His name has not been released.

Police believe the wet roads were a contributing factor.
