SAN ANTONIO - Police are still looking for leads in the murders of three people found dead inside a burned home on Karen Street. Investigators were back at the home Thursday looking for evidence on how the fire was started.
Police believe 29-year-old Rebecca Gonzales and her 11-year-old daughter Sammy Ochoa and a roommate were killed before the fire started.
Friends of Gonzales say she worked as an after school teacher at The Circle School for years, and loved being giving her time to children.
Katy Pell, friend of Gonzales, said, “She was always such a positive contributor to whatever she was around and was also so gorgeous and young.”
A police spokesperson confirmed back in August they received a report from this home from a mother claiming her daughter had been sexually assaulted by the girl's father. Authorities tell us Gonzales' ex-husband has been questioned in their investigation, but he is not considered a person of interest. The man was arrested yesterday on unrelated traffic warrants and released.
Neighbors say the third victim in the home was Gonzales’ roommate but still no name has been released.
