CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas (AP) -- A former employee of a state facility for the developmentally disabled accused of sanctioning fights among residents has pleaded guilty midway through his Corpus Christi trial.
The Corpus Christi Caller-Times reports that 22-year-old Guadalupe Delarosa Jr. pleaded guilty Wednesday to two counts of injury to the disabled and was sentenced to four years in prison. A third count of injury to the disabled was dismissed in exchange for his plea.
Delarosa and five others were charged after videos of staged fights at the Corpus Christi State School were recovered from another staff member's cell phone last year. Delarosa was identified in three videos shown in court Tuesday.
