PLEASANTON, Texas -- Former Atascosa County Commissioner Tommy Shearrer was found shot to death Wednesday morning.
Officials say a passerby called 911 after finding Shearrer dead inside his truck along the side the road near FM 3006 and St. Augustine Road around 8:15 a.m. Wednesday.
The Atascosa County Sheriff's Office is investigating the death as a homicide. Investigators say they are looking for man identified as 19-year-old Manuel De Los Reyes Galeas as a person of interest in the case and said he is considered armed and dangerous.
Shearrer was 50 years old. He was married and the father of two children. He was also a rancher in the area and very active with city and county.
