SAN ANTONIO - Alvin Robertson is back in jail because of allegations of harassment and threats.
Wednesday morning the district attorney's office asked a judge to double Robertson's bond on each of his three charges. If he wants out, he'll have to come up with $450,000. His attorney said he may not have the means to do that.
News 4 WOAI confirmed two women filed complaints against Alvin Robertson with the San Antonio Police Department. They claim he harassed and threatened them the day after he got out of jail the first time.
Last Friday he was arrested for his alleged involvement in a sex trafficking ring. Sheriff's investigators believe he had sex with a 14-year-old girl. The next day he bonded out. We tried to talk with him about the case, but no luck.
Today the district attorney took these new claims to a judge and asked that she increase Robertson's bond.
"I'm just surprised over the situation. I don't know about it. How would I know anything. I wasn't invited to the hearing. I didn't get to go to the dance," Robertson's attorney, Jimmy Parks, Jr. told us.
Parks said he didn't know about the hearing to raise his bond, and didn't find out until Robertson called him late Wednesday afternoon, telling him he was being rearrested.
“I find it very disingenuous for anybody to say this isn't an attempt to get him in jail. And it isn't an attempt to keep him in jail," Parks said.
Assistant District Attorney Cliff Herberg released this statement News 4 WOAI, "These are women who've had previous protective orders against Mr. Robertson for previous acts of violence. This is about the safety of our community. But more importantly, this is about the safety of these women. We had to make sure that violence didn't happen again."
No word yet on whether any charges will be filed by SAPD after these new complaints.
