SAN ANTONIO -- Don't flirt and drive! The unusual reminder came from San Antonio police Monday evening following a rollover crash on U.S. 281.
Police said a truck was headed southbound on U.S. 281 near Stone Oak with the passenger hanging out of the passenger's side window, flirting with a woman in a nearby car.
The driver of the truck apparently was distracted by his passenger's actions. When the driver realized he was fast-approaching a red light, police said he slammed on his brakes, clipped a second truck, which then caused an SUV to be rear-ended.
The initial truck flipped over. The 'flirting passenger' and the driver of the SUV were both hospitalized. Their conditions were not known Monday night.
Police said no citations had been issued.
Police also said the woman which the passenger was flirting with, described to be driving a pink Chrysler PT Cruiser, drove away.
