SAN ANTONIO -- Fire crews used a ladder to rescue a man after his Northwest Side condominium caught fire Monday morning.

Firefighters were called to the Spyglass Hill Condominiums in the 4200 block of Medical Drive shortly after 8:00 a.m. Monday. A man living there woke up and discovered his apartment was full of smoke. He said flames were blocking the door, so he ran to a bedroom windows and yelled for help. Firefighters heard his cries and used an extension ladder to get him out of the burning building.

Fire crews were able to quickly put out the fire, which they said started in the kitchen.

Some nearby units were damaged by smoke, and firefighters had to break down a couple of doors to check for people.

The man who was rescued was taken to University Hospital for observation.

Good luck just me. I've tried and tried to embarrass them about their "english" on TV and here. I thought they had to have a college education. If that's so their college failed them.
