FORT HOOD, Texas -- The fight continues over the accused Fort Hood shooter's beard.

Last week, a military appeals court ruled Major Nidal Hasan could be forcibly shaved since the military requires he appear in court clean-shaven. But Monday, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Armed Forces granted an indefinite stay for any appeals.

Hasan, who faces murder charges, was scheduled to go to court-martial in August.

This double crossing mass murderer is playing the system like a five dollar fiddle. He is using the hubris of those running the military justice system against them to delay justice, and it is working like a charm. Why should he shave? Because it's against military regs not to? Like he gives a damn. Put this backstabbing jihadi on trial, give him his day in court and then execute him. Stop getting wrapped around the axle over grooming standards. 13 people were killed and 29 were wounded!

I'm with retiredgolfer on this one... if the beard is the only thing holding this up, then execute him with it on!

Nice thought, @Big David 67, but this scum, even if he’s imprisoned, will not be in Huntsville, which is a state prison. Most likely he’ll be in Leavenworth, Kansas. They US Court of Appeals for the Armed Forces made a very bad decision. They need to allow him to be shaved (it’s military regulation) and tried and convicted and executed. Hopefully in the same week.

preexisting- The state of Texas has no jurisdiction what so ever over what happens on Fort Hood or any other military facility. And yes, this situation has been drug-out way too long.

Doesn't the State of Texas have any jurisdiction in this case? If not the State, doesn't the Federal government have jurisdiction? While the military court martial is stalled can't proceedings be pursued in any other way?

I do believe that there are quite a few inmates at Huntsville who would be willng to "assist" Hasan with his beard problem and maybe save the U.S. Army some of the costs of a court-martial in exchange for a pardon.

What is the most troubling over Hasan killing 13 people and wounded so many is that president Obama has the audacity to call this a work place violence. This was a Muslim attacking Americans while yelling God is great in Arabic. This was a terrorist attack however, Obama just like about Benghazi refused to call it what it is. Beard or no beard, this Muslim needs to be brought to justice now. I'm tired of the Obama administration pandering to the Muslim world so we don't offend them. Bull crap! I'll offend them. Time for Obama and his cronies to fess up that the Muslim murderers are a huge problem and quit making excuses for them. Fort Hood was not a work place violence. God help us if Obama wins 4 more years as America will be the biggest loser.

Again I will say - Just try him with the beard on get on with it - Yes the court and Army are right he should shave but all they are winning are delays which is the reason his lawyer is doing this - While waitng for this court to rule they are just preparing the appeal to the Supreme Court - It is adding time to his life because of all this fighting for "Principal".
